Freak Slug, the project of Xenya Genovese (Manchester), lands in Vancouver with the Amulet Tour on October 24, 2026 at the Fox Cabaret. Trained in the visual arts and self-taught on the music side, she builds a universe where everything resonates with each other: voice, imagery, narration, and an aesthetic nourished by web culture, autofiction, and millennial symbols. Her early short formats set the scene, from Videos (featuring "Radio," which has become a flagship track) to I'm In Love and Viva La Vulva, before moving to a broader scale with I Blow Out Big Candles, conceived as a cohesive block rather than a simple sequence of tracks. On stage, Freak Slug extends this work of pop collage and direct songwriting, blending humor, corporeality, and generational references, with an energy tailored for live performance. A date to catch an artist who never separates music from the rest of her story.
