Milo Korbenski presents himself masked, literally: an anonymous solo project that is visible in public only behind a blank, expressionless white mask. But behind this façade, his richly inhabited take on lo-fi slacker indie leans into proximity, with a singing style that sounds direct, almost naked.
Self-taught to the core, Korbenski records, designs, and self-publishes his records before releasing the rougher album When you Gonna Tell ’Em the Truth, Aaron? on the Brighton label Phantom Limb. His music wanders between slightly strange underpinnings and writing full of mischief: wordplay, catchy melodic lines, and deliberately light instrumentation that leaves room for hooks, silences and the refrains that linger.
