On Sunday 15 November 2026, Kiss Facility lands at Strange Brew in Bristol with the duo formed by Mayah Alkhateri and Salvador Navarrete, better known as Sega Bodega. Alkhateri, Emirati-born and raised and half-Egyptian, brings a writing shaped by lived identity and cultural memory; Navarrete’s production sense pushes the songs into a more elastic, forward-leaning space.
Kiss Facility sits at the crossroads of shoegaze and indie rock, with hazy guitars and soft-focus textures, but it’s the Arabic influences threaded through Mayah’s heritage that give the project its real tension and direction. The point isn’t decoration: it’s a way to question what freedom, creativity and self-definition can sound like when you’ve been asked to keep parts of yourself quiet. As Alkhateri puts it, Kiss Facility was created as a sound and a refuge for Middle Eastern women forced into double lives, and for anyone who recognizes that pressure—turning vulnerability into something shared, direct and unapologetic, with guests joining the night.
