Mariana Aydar arrives in Lisbon for a concert at Casa Capitão on November 17, 2026, bringing the blend that has become her signature: MPB, samba, and, above all, the Northeast forró in a lively and contemporary version. Possessing a direct, immediate voice and a repertoire that crosses tradition and the present, she revisits the genre’s classics without turning them into museum pieces, drawing baião, xote, and other popular rhythms into the here and now. With six albums to her name and a career marked by encounters and collaborations, Mariana has already shared stages with artists such as Gilberto Gil and Criolo. She also created the São Paulo bloco Forrozin, which helped bring forró to the streets during São Paulo’s Carnival. In her lyrics and repertoire choices, there is a keen focus on female protagonism and a desire to question old narratives, without losing the danceable heat that makes forró work live.
