On April 4, 2027, HENGE arrives at the Empire Music Hall in Belfast with their sci-fi gear and their fixation: to make the Earth dance to a soundtrack from elsewhere. Behind the costumes and the characters (Zpor, Goo, Sol and Nom), the British four-piece formed in Manchester in 2015 weaves its 'cosmic dross', a nervous mix of psychedelic rock, space rock, electro and avant-pop. Synths with bright, clear tones, bass right at the forefront, motorik drums and acidic guitars: everything is designed to raise a trance as catchy as it is strange, between the song format and a more experimental drift.
On stage, their reputation has been built through relentless touring and appearances at alternative festivals across the UK and Europe, until they were named 'Best Live Act' at the Independent Festival Awards. With several albums to their name—from Attention Earth! to Journey to Voltus B—and a universe that spills over into a comic-book series, HENGE turns each concert into an episode of their mythology, carried by a message of cohesion and collective escape.
