Since 2008, East Forest—the project of American musician Trevor Oswalt—has been developing a sound that sits between ambient, neoclassical, electronic textures, and avant-pop. His pieces rely on slow layering, clear melodies, and a generous sense of space—music that emphasizes states of mind, breath, and focus more than traditional song forms. In recent years, he has expanded this idea into long, immersive formats, for example with Music for Mushrooms and the series Soundtrack for the Psychedelic Practitioner. In February 2025, Lovingly: A Soundtrack for the Psychedelic Practitioner, Vol. III was released, a live set over six hours long drawn from improvisational recordings made between 2020 and 2024. In addition to that, there are more than 30 releases and collaborations, including with Ram Dass, Laraaji, Dead Prez, Nick Mulvey, Max Cooper, and DJ ANNA. On November 24, 2026, East Forest brings this concentrated, meditative live experience to the Ampere in Munich.
