On October 18, 2026, Alex Cameron plays at Circolo Magnolia in Novegro-Tregarezzo, Italy. The Australian, who spent time with the electronic group Seekae before forging his solo path, has since the early 2010s been building a synth-pop with relatively laid-back tempos, carried by a deep voice and a highly narrative lyric style.
With Jumping the Shark, then Forced Witness and Miami Memory, Cameron refines a style in which songs function as small scenarios: invented characters, first-person confessions, fragments of nocturnal lives, precarious jobs and existences in balance. In the studio, he has occasionally crossed paths with Angel Olsen or The Killers in terms of writing, but it is mainly on stage that his universe expands, often aided by Roy Molloy’s saxophone. Since Oxy Music, he pushes even further a soft rock and synth-pop vein, gentler, without losing the sense of detail in the lyrics.
