If you have ever seen Manu Chao live, you know that his shows revolve around movement, rhythm and direct songs you sing along to right away. Born in Paris and raised with Spanish roots, he immersed himself in the alternative scene of the 1980s and truly broke through with Mano Negra: an edgy mix of punk, ska, reggae and Latin that landed just as well in France as in Spain and Latin America. Solo projects made him sound even more mobile and raw, with multilingual songs in French, Spanish, English or Portuguese, and a sound that balances between rumba, reggae, folk and acoustic rock, often with that characteristic street and radio vibe.
On Sunday, 30 August 2026 Manu Chao will perform at Muziekgebouw Eindhoven in Eindhoven. Do not expect a polished pop show, but a set that thrives on tempo, energy and songs from his broad repertoire, from the early patchanka spirit to the solo work that has followed him worldwide.
