City of the Sun lands in Manchester on December 21, 2026, at YES, with their New York-based trio tailored for the stage: two acoustic guitars and percussion, nothing more, but enough to craft real songs in motion. Led by John Pita, Avi Snow and Zach Para, the group first forged its sound on the streets, between parks and the subway, before taking it from small venues to larger tours. Their music is entirely instrumental, somewhere between flamenco-tinged fervor, indie rock, folk, and nods to Latin American rhythms. It plays with contrasts: recurring motifs, collective accelerations, then more airy, almost contemplative passages. On stage, improvisation and listening among the three musicians matter as much as the melodies, with that acoustic energy quickly filling the space. Guests are also announced for the evening.
