Hindley Street Country Club lands at the O2 City Hall Newcastle on 17 April 2027 with its very 'session band' approach to covers: a collective of studio musicians gathered around bassist and producer Constantine Delo, who performs live, studio-style takes of classic pop, rock, soul and funk. Born in 2017 and initially developed through studio recordings but with the energy of live performance, HSCC has built a sonic signature based on a solid pop-soul rhythm section, melodic guitars and keyboards pushed to the fore, sometimes augmented by brass.
On stage, the group transposes standards from the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s, without excluding more recent tracks, varying the colors through a rotating cast of invited male and female vocalists. The through line remains the same: versions faithful to the original structures, enhanced by light rearrangements and a groove that holds the whole thing together.
