Sloan returns to the stage on November 22, 2026 at The Concert Hall in Toronto. Formed in Halifax in the early 1990s, the quartet Chris Murphy, Jay Ferguson, Patrick Pentland and Andrew Scott has built a rare identity: each writes and sings, which yields performances that are moving, full of back-and-forth between taut power pop and rougher indie rock, without losing the thread.
Driven by melodic guitars, crisp choruses and well-placed harmonies, Sloan draws from a catalog that spans Smeared and Twice Removed to One Chord to Another and Navy Blues, before gliding into broader formats and unabashed nods to 60s-70s rock. On stage, this collective writing translates into a true band dynamic: short, catchy songs, longer tracks, shifts in vocal delivery at the mic and a constant energy, with a songwriting sensibility that spans decades.
