I nearly titled this show 'The Pleasure'. And then I told myself that the only pleasures one would think of facing such a title would be pleasures forbidden to those under 18. Or, for financial reasons, I want those under 18 to be able to attend my show as well. So I called it 'Delicious': it's a family show.
In one hour and a quarter, I will attempt to untangle the complexity of what provokes pleasure in human beings. Of course pleasure can come from a glass of Chasselas that one lets linger along the lake's edge in spring. But it can also be provoked by the death of someone you do not love. Of course, an unexpected promotion within the company brings joy. But also the act of eating Gruyère cheese in Gruyères, or knowing—when one is French—that you do not pronounce the 'z' in Étivaz (which lets us delight in correcting all the idiots who make the mistake).
My aim is that this show provokes in you a certain pleasure, in a mise en abyme, like eating Gruyère in Gruyères.
