On April 9, 2027, Rodrigo y Gabriela set down their guitars at La Cartonnerie in Reims. The Mexican duo, who started out in metal before reinventing themselves acoustically, return with Our Home, an album recorded in Tokyo where their strings bridge Latin rhythms, flamenco-inspired bursts, rock energy, and stronger metal tensions, all with a real sense of imagery, nearly cinematic.
On stage, everything hinges on their ultra-tight dialogue: Rodrigo Sánchez unfurls rapid, precise lines, while Gabriela Quintero turns her guitar into a rhythmic machine, between percussive strikes and hypnotic grooves. An entirely instrumental music, but one that tells a lot, nourished as much by the street as by the big venues, and that has also left its mark on soundtracks, from collaborations with Hans Zimmer to appearances on the TV side. A date for fans of nerve-wracking playing, dynamism, and bold stylistic leaps, without any pose.
