Rodrigo y Gabriela

Rodrigo y Gabriela bring their twin acoustic guitars to Progresja in Warsaw on 20 April 2027. Formed in Mexico City in the mid-1990s, Rodrigo Sánchez and Gabriela Quintero first played together in a metal band before switching to acoustic. A move to Dublin sharpened their sound and stagecraft, as they built an instrumental set where flamenco- and Latin-inspired rhythms meet rock energy and folk-tinged melodies. Their music hinges on dialogue: Rodrigo’s lyrical lead lines cut through while Gabriela drives the groove with percussive strumming and palm hits on the guitar body.

Live, the duo navigates their catalogue with tight interplay and clear dynamics, from early pieces on re-Foc and the self-titled album to the riff-led shapes of 11:11, the orchestrated detours of Area 52, and more recent chapters from 9 Dead Alive, Mettavolution and In Between Thoughts... A New World. The set unfolds without vocals, just two guitars trading motifs, shifting tempos and layered harmonics. Intimate arpeggios, sudden accents and syncopated patterns carry the show, keeping the focus on rhythm, precision and the raw conversation between two instruments at Progresja.
