La Pegatina

On 20 December 2026 La Pegatina will perform at SPOT/De Oosterpoort in Groningen. The collective from Montcada i Reixac, near Barcelona, has been crafting a mix of rumba catalana, ska and gypsy punk since 2003. Originally called Pegatina Sound System, the formation grew into a band with acoustic guitars, percussion, horns and multi‑part, often sing‑along choruses. Their language switches effortlessly between Spanish and Catalan, with occasional forays into other tongues of the Iberian Peninsula.

Their discography includes Al carrer! (2007), Via Mandarina (2009) and Xapomelön (2011), followed by Eureka! (2013), Revulsiu (2015), Ahora o Nunca (2018) and Darle la vuelta (2020). The group has toured intensively across Spain and Europe, including a stint in China, and has collaborated with, among others, Manu Chao, Che Sudaka, Amparo Sánchez, Esne Beltza and Ska‑P. Live shows focus on rhythmic drive, horn melodies and call‑and‑response, with rumba as the foundation and influences from the Balkans, reggae and rock adding the finishing touches.
