Razorlight

On 11 November 2026 Razorlight will play at the Melkweg in Amsterdam. The London band around singer and guitarist Johnny Borrell formed in 2002 and grew with the British indie wave of the 2000s, combining angular guitars, a touch of garage and the tight rhythm of the post-punk revival with a distinctly British pop sensibility. Together with guitarist Björn Ågren and bassist Carl Dalemo, Borrell established the core of the sound; with the arrival of drummer Andy Burrows the quartet entered its most recognisable period. That lineup reunited in 2021, after personnel changes and a hiatus in the mid-2010s.

Razorlight released early albums such as Up All Night (2004) and the self-titled Razorlight (2006), followed by Slipway Fires (2008). After resuming activity in 2017 they issued Olympus Sleeping (2018) and, more recently, Planet Nowhere (2024). Meanwhile, songs like Golden Touch, Somewhere Else, In the Morning, America and Wire to Wire have become staples of their repertoire. In Amsterdam the band will draw on more than twenty years of music, with the energy of their early years standing alongside newer material.
