On March 19, 2027, at Albert Hall, Manchester, Rodrigo y Gabriela bring their two-guitar conversation to the stage. Formed in Mexico City in the mid-1990s, the duo of Rodrigo Sánchez and Gabriela Quintero first cut their teeth in a metal band before switching to acoustic guitars and honing an instrumental language on Dublin’s pub and street circuits. Their music folds flamenco and Latin pulses into the drive of rock and metal, with Quintero’s percussive rhythm and palm-hit patterns locking in under Sánchez’s melodic lead lines.

Their catalogue traces that journey: re-Foc (2002), the self-titled Rodrigo y Gabriela (2006), 11:11 (2009), the collaboration with the Cuban ensemble C.U.B.A. on Area 52 (2012), then 9 Dead Alive (2014), Mettavolution (2019) and In Between Thoughts... A New World (2023). On stage, they revisit and reshape pieces from across these records, building grooves from hand-struck textures, tight unison riffs and cascading arpeggios. No vocals, just two acoustic guitars, syncopation and dynamic interplay—a sound they’ve been refining since the ’90s on rock, jazz and world festival stages, with occasional detours into film score collaborations.
