Duran Duran

Duran Duran bring their new wave and synth-pop roots back to Birmingham on 20 October 2026 at Utilita Arena Birmingham. Emerging from the city’s club scene at the turn of the 80s, the band shaped a blend of electronic textures, guitar hooks and dance rhythms with the core of Simon Le Bon, Nick Rhodes, John Taylor and Roger Taylor. Early albums Duran Duran, Rio and Seven and the Ragged Tiger set the tone, while a strong visual identity carried their songs across music television.

Across the decades, the group kept shifting their palette without losing the pulse: a funkier turn on Notorious and Big Thing, a melodic pop focus with The Wedding Album in the 90s, then a deeper electronic edge on Medazzaland. The classic lineup reunion fed into Astronaut before further explorations on Red Carpet Massacre, All You Need Is Now, Paper Gods, Future Past and Danse Macabre. On stage, that path condenses into tight grooves, analogue and digital synth lines, and choruses made to be sung back. A hometown date that links the band’s origins to their present.
