Initially coming from the DIY hardcore scene, Coilguns have since crafted their own blend of punk and ecstatic noise rock. The history of the band is closely tied to the development of guitarist Jona Nido’s label, Humus Records, which now includes up to 150 releases from Swiss artists across diverse sonic horizons. Though their last two albums were self-produced, engineered and mixed by the band members, Coilguns went in the summer of 2022 to Oceansound Recordings in Norway with producer Scott Evans to track their fourth studio album, which was then mixed by Grammy-nominated producer Tom Dalgety. The band is known for raw, uncompromising live performances.
