Nick Hakim

On November 13, 2026, Nick Hakim took the stage at the Cabaret Sauvage. A singer-songwriter born in Washington, D.C., and based in New York, he moves between hazy neo‑soul, alternative R&B and psychedelic soul, with a supple voice and slow, textured arrangements. Having come up through choir and Berklee, he revealed himself with the EP Where Will We Go (2014), followed by Green Twins (2017) and Will This Make Me Good (2020), where his songwriting opened up to experimentation and more introspective moods. Cometa (2022) sketched a lighter, airier strand; his new album, I Can See, extends that thread by refining the sonic grain, between muted grooves, grainy guitars and floating keyboards.

On stage, Hakim stretches the contours of his songs, working with dynamics, silence and a gentle saturation, allowing the melodies to breathe. His sound reflects both his soul roots and his affinity for New York’s scene at the intersection of jazz and improvisation, nourished by collaborations with Onyx Collective, Roy Nathanson, Erykah Badu, Adrianne Lenker and Lil Yachty. The live set is conceived as a patient, sensitive journey, where every production detail serves songwriting that seeks the essential.
