D.R.I.

D.R.I. arrives in Paris on July 2, 2026, at Glazart. Formed in Houston in 1982 before relocating to San Francisco, the band—Dirty Rotten Imbeciles—established themselves at the crossroads of hardcore punk and thrash metal, with songs that were initially very short and frantic before evolving into more structured writing. Centered on founding members Kurt Brecht on vocals and Spike Cassidy on guitar, the current lineup includes Greg Orr on bass and Danny Walker on drums.

On stage, D.R.I. gets straight to the point: cutting riffs, taut rhythms, in-your-face vocals, and sharp tempo changes. The set draws from all periods, from Dirty Rotten LP and Violent Pacification to Dealing with It!, then the pronounced crossover turn with Crossover, 4 of a Kind and Thrash Zone, not to mention the EP But Wait... There’s More!, which returns to a punkier approach. The balance between hardcore assaults and thrash onslaughts remains the band’s hallmark, with tight transitions and breaks that hit cleanly.

Between punk and metal, D.R.I. treads the ridge that has sustained decades of mixed scenes. At Glazart the show presents itself raw and no-nonsense: a compact repertoire, made for sweat and movement, powered by a solid rhythm section and Spike Cassidy’s razor-sharp guitar. A lesson in crossover, delivered old-school.
