Lio

Brought to public attention by her single 'Banana Split', Lio is an icon of Francophone pop. The release of 'Banana Split' in 1979 opened the way to a series of hits such as 'Amoureux solitaires', 'Amicalement vôtre' and 'Week-end à Rome', a duet with Étienne Daho. With 11 albums to her name, Lio has released a 12th studio album: Geoid Party in the Sky.

The record was born of a desire to return to her first loves and to pay tribute to the meaningful encounters life has given her — and to the memorable meetings of her career in particular; it is above all these that enrich her new project. Lio called on several artists from the new pop generation: Louane, Hoshi, Corine, Isia Marie, Betta Lemme, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Marie Darrieussecq and Sofia Portanet have all agreed to write for the Belgian-Portuguese icon. Each song is conceived primarily around an encounter and the passing on of experience, and addresses themes common to women of all generations.
