Jahneration

Thursday, March 25, 2027, Jahneration takes over L’Oasis in Hardanges. Behind the name are Thëo and Ogach, two middle-school friends who, in 2009, swapped their punk-rock guitars for a reggae they write, compose and sing themselves. Musicians since childhood, they deliver lines in English tinged with Jamaican patois and have built, across six albums, a solid identity in which the reggae pulse opens onto contemporary influences.

On stage, the duo champions a modern, rhythmic reggae, without frills, where sung choruses and toasted passages answer one another. The songs oscillate between a roots grounding and more digital textures, with a crisp groove and arrangements crafted for live performance. Jahneration draws on their entire catalogue to roll out a tight set, mixing signature tracks and new material, propelled by a dynamic that puts voice and melody front and center. It’s an occasion that sums up their trajectory: starting from a love of reggae to offer a personal, direct and generous interpretation, for the duration of a concert at L’Oasis.
