Flamin' Groovies - 60 Aniversario

The 60th anniversary of the founding of the Flamin' Groovies and the 50th anniversary of their mellower album Shake Some Action are being celebrated. Concert on 2 September 2026 at 18:00 in Sala Upload.

They are a sixties band that changed direction in the seventies, refused to bow to the trends of the moment, eschewed major commercial success, took a long hiatus and has been active over the past twelve years. Their audience spans generations, with young and old alike, many of whom may have discovered them only recently.

Throughout their long history they have been described as a Fillmore-era San Francisco band and labeled as classic rock, power pop, punk rock and garage rock. All of those tags have accompanied them.

Originally from San Francisco in 1966, the band has been touring and performing intermittently for almost six decades, presenting their brand of rock ’n’ roll with songs such as "Slow Death," "Teenage Head" and "Shake Some Action." The current lineup includes Cyril Jordan; Tony Sales on drums; Atom Ellis on bass; and Sean Fitzsimmons and Miki Rogulj on guitars.
