The Rasmus

The Rasmus bring the Weirdo Tour to Exeter Phoenix on 5 March 2027. Formed in Helsinki in 1994 by school friends, the band first mixed funk, punk and alternative pop on early albums Peep, Playboys and Hellofatester. With singer Lauri Ylönen, bassist Eero Heinonen and drummer Aki Hakala, they steered toward a darker, more melodic rock on Into, then reached an international audience with Dead Letters and the single In the Shadows. Since then, their music has moved between alternative and pop rock with a hard-edged, gothic tint, later folding in electronic touches across Hide from the Sun, Black Roses, the self-titled The Rasmus, Dark Matters and Rise. After the departure of founding guitarist Pauli Rantasalmi in 2022, Emilia Suhonen took over on guitar; the same year the band represented Finland at Eurovision with Jezebel.

On stage, The Rasmus travel across eras, coupling tight riffs and big hooks with shadowy atmospheres. The set leans on fan staples and recent material from Rise, carried by a band that knows how to pace a room. Support comes from Atlas.
