She Past Away

On 26 December 2026 She Past Away will bring their dark blend of dark wave and post-punk to the Lido in Berlin. The duo from Turkey — Volkan Caner (vocals, guitar, songwriting) and Doruk Öztürkcan (drums, synths, production) — fuses angular guitars with precise machine-like beats and a synth vibe that links the old and the new. Underpinned by minimally poetic lyrics in Turkish, a dry, driving sound emerges that turns their concerts into a dense, continuous pull.

Since the EP Kasvetli Kutlama (2009) and the debut Belirdi Gece (2012), the project has firmly rooted itself in the darker corners of post-punk and cold wave; tracks like Rituel, Ruh and Kasvetli Kutlama chart its course. With the current album Mizantrop (released in February 2026), She Past Away expand their aesthetic without giving up their clear line: distinctive bass figures, unadorned drum patterns, shimmering synths and Caner’s deep, unruffled vocal delivery. Live, the duo spans the arc between early material and new pieces — stripped-down, focused and immediate — precisely the setting for an intense evening at the Lido.
