Info
James Blake brings his blend of electronic production, piano and voice to The Queen’s Hall in Edinburgh on 23 October 2026. Emerging from London’s experimental scene, the singer, producer and songwriter first drew attention with minimal, bass‑forward tracks championed on Gilles Peterson’s Radio 1 show, then stepped out with a self‑titled debut in 2011 followed by Overgrown in 2013. Since then he’s moved with ease between club‑rooted beats and stripped‑back ballads, collaborating with Bon Iver and Kanye West while steering his own records toward new textures and moods.
On stage, Blake pivots between keyboards, samplers and live processing, reshaping studio cuts into slow‑building arcs and stark, vocal‑led moments. You can expect reworks of tracks like Retrograde or Limit to Your Love alongside newer material, with the hall’s acoustics giving room to his trademarks: deep low‑end rumble, skeletal percussion, sudden silences and that falsetto up close. A set that sits somewhere between sound system culture and intimate songwriting, anchored by detail, space and emotion.
