On 25 February 2027 at The Forum in Bath, The Fisherman’s Friends bring the sound of Cornwall’s harbours to the stage. Formed in Port Isaac in the mid-90s, this group of singers built their name on sea shanties and traditional maritime songs, first sung a cappella, later joined by a light folk backing. Their set moves between hauling songs, laments and big choruses built for voices, carrying the humor and camaraderie of coastal life.
After early self-released albums, the collective widened its audience with major-label records and appearances across British folk festivals. Their story even made it to the cinema in two films, introducing new listeners without shifting their straight-ahead approach. In Bath, expect close harmonies, steady pulse and songs passed down by ear — music for singing together, rooted in place and shared memory.
