JJ « Act II - Into the Unknown Tour »

JJ, also known as Johannes Pietsch, brings his Act II – Into The Unknown Tour to Cologne. On 26 September 2026 the Austrian–Filipino singer will take the stage at the Artheater, demonstrating how he blends contemporary pop melodies with a clearly guided countertenor voice. His songs are short, direct and strongly voice-focused; the pop-oriented melodic lines meet a technique rooted in opera without getting lost in it.

Born in Vienna in 2001, partly raised in Dubai and back in Austria since 2016, JJ carries this mix of pop socialization and classical training audibly into his music. He studied at the Vienna State Opera School and the Music and Arts University of the City of Vienna, which shapes his precision in the upper register and his controlled dynamics. In 2025 he represented Austria at the Eurovision Song Contest with “Wasted Love,” written with Teya and Thomas Thurner, and won the competition. Since then he has condensed his repertoire with singles such as “Back to Forgetting” and “Haunting Me” (2025).

At the centre of the current tour is the EP Into the Unknown, due in 2026. The set brings together the new tracks with previous singles, puts the emphasis on the voice, and lets pop and operatic aesthetics run close to one another—without pathos, but with a clear edge.
