Birds on a Wire

Birds on a Wire is the meeting of Rosemary Standley (voice, known from Moriarty) and Dom La Nena (cello, voice). The duo will perform at La Saline Royale d’Arc-et-Senans in Arc-et-Senans on 31 January 2027, for a concert in chiaroscuro where voice and cello hold the frontline. Their playground: covers and reinterpretations, presented in stripped-down versions that bring several languages into dialogue and blur the boundaries between chamber folk, chanson, pop and early-music repertoires.

On stage, Birds on a Wire weaves a thread between eras and styles, with acoustic arrangements that allow the texts and melodies to breathe. Their repertoire has already encountered Bronski Beat, The Cure, The Doors, Barbara and Stefano Landi, like a musical puzzle in which each piece finds a new light. After Ramages (2020) and Nuées Ardentes (2025), the duo continues to explore this area at the junction of chanson and chamber music, prioritizing attentive listening, balance and a close connection with the audience.
