Getdown Services

Getdown Services land at Rock City, Nottingham, on 4 December 2026. Emerging from the UK independent circuit in the early 2020s, the project threads post-punk, indie rock and dance-minded energy into a lean, functional sound. Tracks are built on insistent basslines and dry drum-machine pulse, with guitars or synths stepping in to drive the groove rather than dress it up. The vocal delivery sits between spoken word and half-sung lines, a plainspoken way to map everyday scenes, social codes and small urban habits with a cool sense of distance.

On stage, Getdown Services keep it tight: repetition as a backbone, clipped shifts in dynamics and clear, unfussy structures that invite movement without losing focus. That economy lets the set move easily between a rock room’s grit and a more electronic undertow, where riffs, loops and drum patterns share the same job. The date at Rock City brings that approach into a bigger space while keeping the DIY edge of their club shows, swapping excess for precision and a straight line from idea to impact.
