Foster & Allen In Concert

Formed in Ireland in 1975 by Mick Foster and Tony Allen, Foster & Allen have built a sound where Irish traditional music meets folk, country and easy listening. Ballads, waltzes and well-known airs lead the way, carried by close harmonies and Foster’s accordion. On 30 April 2027 at Ulster Hall, Belfast, the duo bring a set that spans decades of songs and stories gathered on the road between Ireland, the UK and far beyond.

Their early releases The Blacksmith (1976) and A Bunch of Thyme (1980) paved the path for a long run of albums and steady touring. Since 1982 they’ve taken a backing band on stage while keeping the pared-back, melodic core of their beginnings. Look out for staples like Maggie and selections from records such as After All These Years, Reflections, By Request, Sincerely and the more recent Putting On the Style, plus songs first recorded with friends over the years, from Gloria Hunniford to Shayne Ward. Story-songs, sing-along choruses and accordion-led instrumentals shape a set drawn from across their catalogue.
