Mauritania’s Noura Mint Seymali is a griot, singer, and composer, carrying centuries of Moorish tradition into the present. Her music blends desert blues, Saharan psych-rock, and West African call-and-response, anchored by the harp-like ardin, electric guitar, bass, and percussion. On Yenbett, she expands this language with trance-like cycles, poetic storytelling, and improvisation. She performs at Jazz Cafe on 26 July 2026 at 6:00 pm.
