Fat Dog hit O2 Academy Leeds on 27 November 2026, bringing a strain of electro-punk that grew out of London’s lockdown years. Started by Joe Love in 2020 and quickly expanded into a five-piece on the south London circuit, the band built its name on sweat-heavy gigs long before the studio caught up. Their sound snaps between post-punk and dance-punk with hard, tense synth lines, drum machines that flirt with rave, and a saxophone that nudges the groove toward klezmer motifs.
After early slots with Sports Team, Yard Act and Viagra Boys, Fat Dog signed to Domino in 2023 and rolled out King of the Slugs, then All the Same, Running and I Am the King, leading to the 2024 album WOOF. On stage, repetition works like a magnet, the guitars grind against electronics, and the mood tilts toward the absurd without losing focus. Leeds gets a night built for movement and a band that treats chaos as structure.
