Barenaked Ladies

Barenaked Ladies bring their quick-witted alt-rock to O2 Institute Birmingham on 10 December 2026. Formed in 1988 in Scarborough, near Toronto, the band shaped a blend of jangly pop, folk inflections and tight vocal harmonies, carried by talkative, playful lyrics. After the early partnership of Steven Page and Ed Robertson, the group has toured and recorded as a quartet since 2009 with Ed Robertson, Jim Creeggan, Tyler Stewart and Kevin Hearn.

On stage, they dip into the early Canadian breakthrough Gordon and the late-90s run that pushed them wider with Stunt and Maroon, then thread in newer cuts from Detour de Force. The live set shifts easily from acoustic leanings to punchier guitar pop, leaving space for off-the-cuff banter and the odd cover. Singalongs like One Week or Pinch Me often sit alongside fan favorites and deeper tracks, all anchored by four-part harmonies. And yes, the theme they penned for The Big Bang Theory tends to surface. Expect sharp lyrics, easy grooves and melodies built to linger, delivered with the loose, conversational energy that has kept the band touring for decades.
