PJ Morton

PJ Morton brings his New Orleans-bred soul to O2 Academy Birmingham on 11 October 2026. Keyboardist, singer and songwriter, he moves between R&B, gospel, soul and funk, shaped by an early start in church and a taste for warm, organic arrangements. After first solo steps with Emotions and Perfect Song, he widened his scope with Following My First Mind, then New Orleans, which anchored his connection to his hometown’s grooves. Alongside his role with Maroon 5, he has built a steady solo catalogue — Gumbo, Paul, Gospel According to PJ, Watch the Sun — where supple vocals, stacked harmonies and melody-first writing set the tone.

On stage, his music runs on keys at the center, a rhythm section that leans into Southern feel, and songs that travel from confessional R&B to praise-tinged uplift without breaking the flow. Hooks carry the set, but there’s room for call-and-response and improvisation, true to his church roots. A live moment focused on voices, harmonies and pocket, played by a band that lets each song breathe.
