Her new record, “it’s just my opinion,” leans back into the edge of indie sleaze and the late-night energy of Camden and Shoreditch, moulded into concise hooks and riffs that snap live. “Better Undressed” flips heartbreak into a frank, dance-leaning confessional, while “Slap on the Wrist” locks into one of her most direct political takes, tackling male violence and the failures that leave survivors exposed.

Across the years, girli (Milly Toomey) has built a catalogue that speaks plainly about identity, sexuality, mental health and self-expression, and a stage craft honed on headline runs and festivals.
