Angine de Poitrine

Angine de Poitrine bring their instrumental duo from Quebec to O2 Academy Leeds on 18 October 2026. Under this name, Klek and Khn de Poitrine trace a line between experimental rock, math rock and a jagged post-punk, with a mechanical sense of repetition borrowed from certain strains of techno. Live, their pieces grow and recede through short motifs: a tight, dry drum sound locks into microtonal guitar and bass figures, while chromatic phrases nudge the harmony and tilt structures that are often asymmetrical.

With no vocals to lean on, the duo focus on motion, variation and rhythmic displacement. The result is tense but mobile, clipped yet danceable, built on patterns that knot and loosen without flash. Since releasing Vol. 1 in 2024, they have taken these tracks across Quebec stages and festivals, including the Montreal International Jazz Festival, shaping a set that breathes and shifts in real time. In Leeds, expect grooves that feel physical and precise, a play of build and release, and the kind of dialogue where every hit and interval counts.
