Wolfmother

Wolfmother bring their heavy, melodic rock back to London on 29 July 2026 at O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire. Formed in Sydney in the early 2000s around singer-guitarist Andrew Stockdale, the band draws from 70s hard rock and psychedelia: thick, fuzzed-out riffs, retro-tinged keys and a high, driving vocal line. The original trio emerged with a self-titled EP in 2004, then a debut album in 2005 that pushed them onto international stages. After the departure of the initial rhythm section in 2008, Stockdale kept the project moving with a renewed lineup and the more expansive Cosmic Egg in 2009.

A short detour under Stockdale’s own name preceded the lo-fi, independently released New Crown in 2014, then Victorious in 2016, which tightened the songwriting around leaner rock forms. On stage, Wolfmother plays it direct: riffs up front, grooves stretched just enough, keys adding colour without blunting the edge. Stockdale’s voice cuts through the wall of guitars and rhythm, shifting between chugging momentum and psych-streaked breakdowns. Expect a set that connects early staples with later punchier tracks, built for collective head-nods and a room moving in time.
