Holywatr

Holywatr brings its blend of nu metal, emo and hardcore to The Underworld in London on 10 June 2026. Built online rather than from a fixed local scene, the project has grown track by track, shaping a rough-edged yet melodic sound: dense, down-tuned guitars, heavy rhythms and vocals that move from quiet confession to a tense, cathartic bite. There are clear echoes of late-90s and early-2000s alternative metal, filtered through today’s emo culture and an internet-native sensibility.

Singles Without U, Loose Ends, Fade and Nail Polish sketch the thematic core: vulnerability, tangled relationships and inner friction. Writing favors contrast, with restrained verses tipping into saturated, full-voiced choruses, and riffs that carry weight without losing a sense of melody.

On stage, expect sharp dynamics rather than polish: nervous grooves, sudden drops and hooks built to be shouted back. It’s heavy but tuneful, intimate yet confrontational, aiming for that line where introspection flips into release — a live setting that gives these contrasts room to hit.
