The Undertones

The Undertones mark 50 years on the road with a return to the stage at Epic Studios, Norwich, on 15 October 2026. Formed in Derry in 1976, the band learned their craft on mail-order records and BBC sessions before cutting Teenage Kicks in 1978, a single John Peel famously played twice in a row. On this anniversary tour, they roll out a focused set that revisits their punchy mix of punk urgency and pop melody: Get Over You, Jimmy Jimmy, My Perfect Cousin, You’ve Got My Number, Julie Ocean, Wednesday Week and, bien sûr, Teenage Kicks. Short songs, clean riffs, straight-ahead tempos: a catalogue built for singalongs without the frills.

The Beat ft Ranking Jr join as special guests. Born in Birmingham’s 2-Tone scene, the group bridged pop hooks and taut ska rhythms from the start, with Tears of a Clown b/w Ranking Full Stop leading to I Just Can’t Stop It and the standout Mirror in the Bathroom. On stage, their offbeat grooves and tight arrangements keep the dancefloor moving. Ranking Jr, son of the late Ranking Roger, takes the mic and carries the lineage forward, drawing on classic material while keeping the flow lively.
