On 16 September 2026, Co-op Live in Manchester welcomes Spiritbox with Jinjer and Dying Wish. Formed on Canada’s west coast by vocalist Courtney LaPlante and guitarist Mike Stringer, Spiritbox shapes a modern metal that crosses metalcore, progressive impulses and a darker alt-rock. Technical riffs meet airy textures, shifting from clean vocals to harsh screams. From early singles and the Singles Collection through Eternal Blue, then the Rotoscope and The Fear of Fear EPs, the band has sharpened a writing style built on contrasts, blending syncopated weight, near-ambient passages and melodic hooks.
Jinjer, from Ukraine and now based in Kyiv, brings a hybrid sound between groove, metalcore and progressive metal. Led by Tatiana Shmayluk, the quartet leans on jagged rhythms, frequent meter changes and the interplay of clean singing and growls, refined across records from Cloud Factory to Macro and Wallflowers.
Opening the night, Portland’s Dying Wish pushes a hardcore-rooted metalcore with rapid, staccato riffs, heavy breaks and flashes of melody. With Emma Boster on vocals, the band channels themes of personal struggle across Fragments of a Bitter Memory and Symptoms of Survival, keeping a direct, high-tension approach.
