Info
Bastille land at The Piece Hall in Halifax on 28 August 2026. Formed in London around singer and songwriter Dan Smith, the band moves between indie pop, synth-pop and alternative rock, with melodic hooks, measured electronics and a taste for cinematic storytelling. On stage, they thread early breakthroughs like Pompeii and Flaws with the moodier contours of Wild World and the nocturnal sketches of Doom Days, fold in the synthetic textures of Give Me the Future, and revisit more acoustic, character-led writing from recent releases. Big choruses, tight drums and keys, and a narrative edge shape a set that spans their catalogue without losing momentum.
Nectar Woode opens the night. Raised in a Ghanaian-British family in Milton Keynes, she writes at the junction of neo-soul, folk, jazz and gospel. Her songs are intimate and clear-eyed, carried by a nuanced voice and uncluttered melodies that connect the UK soul scene with acoustic songwriting traditions. A warm, detailed opener before Bastille take over the courtyard.
