The Fratellis « Celebrating 20 Years of Costello Music »

The Fratellis mark two decades of Costello Music on 27 February 2027 at NX Newcastle in Newcastle upon Tyne. Formed in Glasgow in 2005, the trio — Jon Fratelli, Baz Fratelli and Mince Fratelli — carved out a direct indie rock sound that blends garage punch, power-pop hooks and an alternative edge. Sharp guitars, memorable refrains and a tight rhythmic drive shaped their early rise, from a first EP to the breakout of their 2006 debut.

This anniversary show turns the spotlight back on that record, from the chant-friendly Chelsea Dagger to the tender Whistle for the Choir, and reconnects it with what came next. After Here We Stand and a pause in 2009, the band returned in 2012 and widened the frame across We Need Medicine, Eyes Wide, Tongue Tied, In Your Own Sweet Time and Half Drunk Under a Full Moon, adding soul shades and occasional orchestral colors without dropping their melodic focus. A set built around the songs that made Costello Music stick, and the evolution that has kept The Fratellis moving.
