Matt Maeson brings his raw, story-driven songwriting to O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire in London on 30 September 2026. Raised around Virginia Beach, the American singer-songwriter moves between indie rock grit, folk intimacy and alt-pop melody, carried by a rugged voice that shifts from low-lit confession to electric lift. His songs sit close to the bone, then open out into choruses that catch without overplaying the drama.
After breaking through in the mid-2010s with a run of singles and the EPs Who Killed Matt Maeson (2017) and The Hearse (2018), he set the tone on his debut album Bank on the Funeral (2019), a blend of acoustic tension and contemporary rock production. Never Had to Leave (2022) broadened the palette without losing the focus on narrative writing and guitar-led hooks. Hallucinogenics also travelled widely in a version with Chelsea Cutler, placing him squarely in the American alt-pop landscape.
