Info
Freya Ridings plays The Glasshouse – International Centre for Music in Gateshead on 27 September 2026. London-born and BRIT School alum, she writes at the piano and on guitar, blending pop, folk and soul with a taste for sparse arrangements. First singles arrived in 2017 with Blackout and the breakout Lost Without You, followed by live recordings and the You Mean the World to Me EP before her self-titled 2019 album, carried by You Mean the World to Me and Castles. In 2023, Blood Orange broadened the production while keeping an intimate core. On stage, she moves between hushed ballads and fuller, melodic cuts, guided by that deep, unadorned voice.
Amber Run join from Nottingham, a trio built around Joe Keogh, Tom Sperring and Henry Wyeth. Their indie rock leans on melodic guitars, synth layers and close harmonies, with slow-burn builds and a reflective streak. From the debut 5am (2015) through the darker turn of For A Moment, I Was Lost (2017) and the themes of vulnerability on Philophobia (2019), they’ve edged their sound toward immediacy on How To Be Human (2023). Live, they shift from atmospheric ballads to more direct, guitar-led tracks — a balance that sits naturally alongside Ridings’ stripped, emotive writing.
