On 15 August 2026 at Scarborough Spa, South Bay, Scarborough, Interzone brings together Peter Hook & The Light, The Wedding Present and The Chameleons for a dive into the post-punk and indie guitar songbook.
Peter Hook & The Light draw from the Joy Division and New Order repertoires, driven by Hook’s high, melodic bass that shaped Manchester’s late 70s and 80s sound. The set moves between stark post-punk tension and synth-led pulse, tracing the path from Unknown Pleasures and Closer to the early chapters of New Order.
Formed in Leeds, The Wedding Present, led by David Gedge, deliver brisk, jangling guitars and clear-eyed storytelling. That line from George Best and Bizarro to the darker Seamonsters era still anchors their live energy, where indie pop hooks brush against rougher, noise-tinged edges.
From Middleton near Manchester, The Chameleons bring atmospheric, guitar-rich post-punk: widescreen chords, insistent basslines and Mark Burgess’s taut vocal. Script of the Bridge and Strange Times remain touchstones for a sound that balances shadow and melody.
Interzone round out the bill, setting the tone for a night that connects scenes and generations on the North Sea coast.
