Kraftwerk: Multimedia Tour 2026

Kraftwerk brings its Multimedia Tour 2026 to the Globe Theatre in Stockton-on-Tees on 27 May 2026. Formed in Düsseldorf in 1970 by Ralf Hütter and Florian Schneider, the group moved from early krautrock experiments to a precise electronic language built on steady rhythms, processed voices and themes of technology, mobility and modern life. Albums like Autobahn, Radio-Activity, Trans-Europe Express, The Man-Machine, Computer World and Electric Café shaped a minimalist synth-pop aesthetic often summed up as “robot pop,” a sound that still resonates across contemporary electronic music.

On stage today under the direction of Ralf Hütter, Kraftwerk performs behind consoles with a production that puts image and tight visual synchronization at the center. The set revisits and reworks their catalogue, connecting the motorik flow of Autobahn to the crisp circuitry of Computer World and the aerodynamic pulse of Tour de France Soundtracks. Between analog textures and digital clarity, the show assembles decades of tracks into a coherent live narrative, where each sequence aligns music and visuals with the group’s ongoing exploration of the relationship between humans, machines and movement.
