Mogwai

Formed in mid-90s Glasgow, Mogwai have shaped a post-rock vocabulary where tension lives between near-silence and distortion. Guitars carry lean, recurring motifs that slowly expand into layered surges, while keyboards, loops and discreet electronics color the edges. From Mogwai Young Team and Come On Die Young to Rock Action, Mr Beast, Rave Tapes and Every Country’s Sun, the band has pushed its sound toward finely detailed textures with a filmic sense of space. That path naturally led to scores for Zidane: A 21st Century Portrait, Les Revenants and Atomic, a thread that feeds back into their live sets as long arcs and atmospheric swells.

Back home in Glasgow, Mogwai bring this dynamic palette to The Glasgow Royal Concert Hall on 21 November 2026. Instrumentals rise and retreat, rhythmic pulses steady the storm, and the interplay between Stuart Braithwaite, Dominic Aitchison, Martin Bulloch and Barry Burns holds the line. It’s music built on contrast and patience, where small themes gather weight and volume, then pull back to let the quiet speak.
