Info
On 30 November 2026 at O2 City Hall Newcastle, Ocean Colour Scene bring three decades of songs shaped by britpop, blues rock and a clear mod soul thread. Formed in Birmingham in 1989 around Simon Fowler, Steve Cradock and Oscar Harrison, the band moved from early baggy and indie roots to a tighter, guitar-led approach. Their mid-90s rise was fuelled by close ties with Paul Weller and a 1995 tour with Oasis, leading to albums like Moseley Shoals (1996), Marchin’ Already (1997) and One from the Modern (1999). The following records through the 2000s held to a concise rock craft, mixing bright riffs, supple rhythms and a sixties influence that still runs through their live sets.
The Enemy, formed in Coventry in 2006 by Tom Clarke, Andy Hopkins and Liam Watts, add a lean indie edge fed by alternative and punk. Short, tense and melodic, their tracks look to everyday life and social observation, a style honed on the road alongside Oasis, Kasabian, Stereophonics and The Rolling Stones. Their path runs through four albums — We’ll Live and Die in These Towns (2007), Music for the People (2009), Streets in the Sky (2012) and It’s Automatic (2015) — before a 2016 break, a solo detour for Clarke, then a return to stages from 2022. Here, they plug back into that direct, street-level energy.
